Only 4700 5th Ave does not have a separate water service for a fire suppression system..  The fire alarm systems will be put “on hold” during the outage in all such cases.

What to expect during your meter change out by PWSA:

1. Prior to the scheduled replacement date, the CMU FMS plumber should check that the valves are in working condition to isolate the meter.

2. Provide access to the meter for the PWSA plumbers.

3. During the change out plan the FMS plumber to be on-site to, as necessary, shut down the system and energize the system after the meter is changed to ensure flows come back on-line and no air locks are occurring or any internal plumbing problems arise.

4. The portion of your system feed by the meter will be without water during the change out process.

5. If your backflow has not been tested lately, it may fail when water is restored.

6. Water may be discolored for approximately 15-30+mins. And plumbing fixtures, flush-o-meter aerators, toilet fill valves may require service by the FMS plumber.

7. Any time estimates is only an ESTIMATE. Unforeseen plumbing problems may arise and require unexpected repairs.

No other utility services will be affected, for questions or concerns, please contact Service Response at 412-269-2910.
