SUBJECT:  Forbes Avenue Lane Closures Starting on 10/12

Beginning Monday, 10/12, a sanitary sewer line and storm line supporting the Cohon University Center addition will be installed beneath Forbes Avenue. To complete this work, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Forbes between Morewood Avenue and Devon Road, directly in front of the Alumni House and Delta Gamma Sorority House. Campus Police will be present during the morning and evening rush hours the first week to ensure safe traffic flow and, if needed, will do so throughout the course of the work. Construction will last approximately four weeks.

Phase A
At 6 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12, work will begin beneath the two westbound lanes. During Phase A, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction in the lanes closest to the Cohon Center. Access to Devon Road and the driveways to the Alumni House and Greek Quad will be accessible throughout construction. The north sidewalk along Forbes between Beeler Street and Morewood Avenue will be closed during this phase.  

Phase B
Once Phase A is completed, work will begin beneath the two eastbound lanes. During Phase B, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction in the lanes closest to the Alumni House. Access to the East Campus Parking Garage will be accessible throughout construction. The south sidewalk along Forbes between Beeler and Morewood will be closed during this phase.
