SUBJECT:  Major Tool Move on Roberts Drive Scheduled for Today

The major Nanofab equipment move has been rescheduled for today in the Wean/Porter parking area off of Roberts Drive.  This tool will need to be unloaded from a 53’ semi trailer and moved into Scott Hall. 

The plan is to have a semi back into the Frew Street entrance of Roberts Drive at 10:00AM and sit in the area outside of the Hamerschlag Hall C-level entrance up to 3-4 hours maximum.  The truck will be unloaded by a 30,000 lb fork lift and a 6,000 lb fork lift.   Both forklifts and a large box truck would need to be on site all day.  In addition, there will be two large air compressors on site, one of which will be supplying air to the rigging crew throughout the morning (the second will only be used as a backup option).

Parking on Frew Street will be closed.  Access to Roberts Drive and the Gates Garage will remain open during this time.  Pedestrian traffic between the Porter/Wean parking area and the mall (via the new staircase between Scott and Porter Halls) will remain open as well.  We will also do our best to maintain space for delivery trucks arriving at the Hamerschlag Hall C-level entrance.  However, space will be limited.
