SUBJECT: Roberts Hall Partial Chilled Water outage 8:00 PM, December 20th to Noon, December 22nd
There will be a shutdown of chilled water service to Roberts Hall starting at 8:00 PM, Tuesday December 20th. Service will expected to be restored no later than Noon, Thursday, December 22nd. Because of the cool weather, this will not affect building air conditioning but will affect laboratory process cooling. However, FMS plans to circulate 50 degree domestic water through the building to provide emergency cooling for processes that cannot be shut down. We estimate that approximately 40 GPM of process cooling water flow will be available via this means.
This outage is required to replace valves within the FMS chilled water plant as part of a plant expansion and upgrade. If your equipment is heavily dependent on chilled water or air conditioning, it is recommended that it be turned off during the outage.
