UPDATE – The evaluation this morning identified that the equipment that failed yesterday is extensively damaged and will be unsafe to reenergize.
We are working to repair the damage as quickly as possible. However, power will remain off to the affected areas until at least this afternoon. FMS Electricians are also evaluating alternate ways to bring temporary power to spaces that have critical needs.
Please call the Service Response Center if you have questions or concerns at 8-2910.

Subject: UPDATE: Power Outage in portions of Hamerschlag Hall – 4/27/17
Update:
As stated in the previous message, power has been restored to the affected areas. All electrical circuits appear to be normal and identifying the root cause of the breaker trip will require testing the electrical breaker. We have rescheduled ABM Electrical Power Solutions until tomorrow morning because their investigation of the breaker will require a power outage in the affected areas. The shutdown is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 730AM and we anticipate that the work could last two hours from 730AM until 930AM.
In order to reduce the chance for the breaker tripping tonight, we are requesting your assistance by turning off non-essential lights or electrical equipment in the affected areas. We have an electrician on campus until midnight to respond in case of a power outage. Thank you for your patience as the electricians troubleshoot the issue.
If you have any questions, please call our 24 hour Service Response at 8-2910.
