SUBJECT: CIT ANSYS Building and Undergraduate Maker Center Update

Beginning Tuesday, 6/20, from 7:00AM – 5:00PM daily, CDFD will be conducting Geotechnical site verifications for the ANSYS Simulation Building and Undergraduate Maker Center. It is anticipated that the work will take approximately two weeks to complete.  The work will be conducted on the future site of the ANSYS building in the parking lot off of Frew Street between Porter Hall, Hamerschlag Hall and Scaife Hall.

Phase I consists of removing and replacing a portion of the sidewalk in front of Hamerschlag. During this phase, pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone back to the sidewalk.

Phase II consists of digging a test pit in the corner of Porter Hall and Addition. Pedestrians will be detoured around the construction fence.

Phase III consists of digging a test pit at the corner of Porter Hall by Frew Street. Traffic will be open in each direction but reduced to one lane. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.

Construction signage will be posted in the area and on Hamerschlag Drive alerting both pedestrians and drivers of the work zones.  The work will not restrict the existing ADA parking spaces.
