SUBJECT: Porter Hall Registrar Classrooms Renovation
The Porter Hall Registrar Classrooms Renovation effort is currently underway. To ensure compliance with city ordinances, fireproofing efforts are required to be carried out in the University Registrar Classrooms on the 1st and 2nd Floor (125B,125C,126A,226A,226B,226C,225B). To ensure the project meets the aggressive Winter Break schedule, these improvements were being coordinated over the weekends ( Nov 10th,11th,12 & Nov 18th &19th) and over Thanksgiving Break (Nov 21st evening- Nov 26th ).
Schedule of Thanksgiving Break Work:
Tuesday, Nov 21, 2017 :
o Fireproofing company to mobilize by 6:00 PM to set up equipment and begin
installation of fireproofing to above deck, joist, and beams.
Wednesday, Nov 22, 2017 :
o 6:00AM – 7:00PM Fireproofing above deck, joints, and beams in 226A, 226B,
226C, and 225B, 125B,125C, & 126A.
Thursday, Nov 23, 2017 :
o 6:00AM – 7:00PM Continue Fireproofing above deck, joints, and beams in 125B, 125C,
& 126A.
Friday, Nov 24, 2017
o 6:00AM – 7:00PM Continue Fireproofing above deck, joints, and beams in 125B, 125C,
& 126A. Fireproofing operation completed, all rooms/corridors to be cleaned
of fireproofing material and equipment removed.
Saturday, November 25th – 6:00AM – 2:30PM
o Jendoco Construction to clean rooms of all debris, remove protection, and replace
chairs and tables for continuation of classes on Monday, Nov 27th.
o Jendoco Construction to contact CMU- Media Tech when rooms are complete to re-attach
ceiling-mounted projectors units.
It was brought to attention this morning that a section of the 1st floor corridor was cordoned off with plastic. This situation has been remedied and Jendoco Construction Company will coordinate and maintain circulation through this corridor. We apologize for the inconvenience to the occupants during this time and appreciate your cooperation.
