UPDATE – Power was restored to Roberts Hall at approximately 4:45 AM this morning and FMS crews began restoring HVAC and other services to the building at that time.  The new automatic transfer switch was installed and tested successfully.  For now, emergency power to Roberts Hall is being provided by the backup emergency generator as work continues to diagnose and correct problems with the Roberts generator.

SUBJECT: Roberts Hall Emergency Power Outage

All emergency power is scheduled to be shut down in Roberts Hall on Thursday, 4/11, starting at 11:59PM until Friday morning, 4/12, at 6:00AM.  This shut down is necessary to replace the electrical transfer switch serving the Roberts Hall emergency generator. 

The vast majority of the power in the building will not be affected during the shutdown.

Since all life safety systems will be down during this outage, the building will be closed.  If you require emergency access to the building during the outage, please contact FMCS to make arrangements.

All equipment fed from normal/emergency electrical panels will be down during this outage.  

The building fume hood exhaust fans will also be shut down, therefore no experiments can be running in any fume hoods.
