SUBJECT: Duquesne Light Power Issue
Several campus buildings experienced a momentary power disruption this afternoon due to a power issue from Duquesne Light. FMS crews are currently checking systems in the affected buildings and we recommend departments remotely review their equipment to confirm normal operation. Buildings that are likely affected include:
Boss Hall
CFA
CIC
Cyert
Donner
Gym
Hamerschlag House
HOA
Hunt Library
Mellon Institute
MM Apartments
Scott Hall
Warner Hall
Wean
The power issue occurred at approximately 2:15PM. Issues with Duquesne Light power supply can cause breakers to trip, momentary voltage sags, phase imbalances or power spikes that may impact sensitive electrical components. Anything powered down for the campus closure would not be affected. We recommended remotely confirming that any operating systems are still on-line and normal.
