SUBJECT: Wean Hall Exhaust Upgrades Project – Discussion Meeting 11/19
Campus Design & Facility Development (CDFD) is working with Facilities Management & Campus Services(FMCS) on the Wean Hall Exhaust Upgrades Project this Fall. The project scope includes replacing the laboratory exhaust fans at Wean Hall with a new system.
This project entails erecting a crane at the hairpin turn of Hamerschlag Drive in order to lift the supporting steel structure and the mechanical equipment.
The following will be affected during this work:
- Access to the CIC and Gates Garage will be closed on 11/30 and 12/4 , when the crane is being assembled on site and dis-assembled, respectively.
- Parking along Hamerschlag Drive will be restricted due to crane operations.
- Due to the swing of the crane during operations, the Newell Simon Bridge will be closed for pedestrian access from 11/30 – 12/4. Please plan your access between Wean and Gates through the main access – through the cut and the mall.
- Please note that due to the swing of the crane we recommend that the following rooms on the 8th floor of Wean Hall remain unoccupied during the week of 11/30. ( Attached Wean 8th Floor Floorplan)
There will be a ZOOM meeting on Thursday, 11/19, at 11:00AM to discuss the details of this project.
