SUBJECT: Water Event – 4615 Forbes (GATF) Level 1
The lowest level of 4615 Forbes (GATF Building) is impacted by an overnight water event with water on the floor across most Level 1 spaces. The cause of the event was a ruptured hot water heater. FMCS staff are extracting water and the remediation contract is onsite to support the response effort. Departments with space on the lowest level of GATF should visit as soon as possible to assess potential water damage to items in contact with the floor or contact FMCS at 412.268.2910 for support if unable to respond today. Due to the extent of the water event, restoration work will continue during the Winter Break.
Question should be directed to Zone Manager Bob Giffen at rgiffen@andrew.cmu.edu or 412.418.1529.
