SUBJECT:  Duquesne Light Power Issue this morning- 4/7/22


Main campus buildings, Mellon Institute, and other Oakland area facilities may have experienced a momentary voltage drop due to a Duquesne Light power issue at their main distribution center.  FMS crews are currently checking systems in buildings.   

 

The power issue occurred between 7:30am and 8:30am this morning.  Issues with Duquesne Light power supply can cause breakers to trip, momentary voltage sags, phase imbalances or power spikes that may impact sensitive electrical components.  We recommended departments review their equipment and confirm that any operating systems are still on-line and normal.
