SUBJECT: Duquesne Light Power Issue

 

Main campus buildings, Mellon Institute and off- campus locations may have experienced a momentary voltage drop due to a Duquesne Light power issue that affected the high voltage distribution to the Oakland area.  FMS crews are checking systems in buildings.   

 

Issues with Duquesne Light power supply can cause breakers to trip, momentary voltage sags, phase imbalances or power spikes that may impact sensitive electrical components.  We recommended departments remotely review their equipment and confirm that any operating systems are still on-line and normal.
