Starting Monday, August 22, the Scaife Hall Project will require excavation of Hamerschlag Drive between Hamerschlag and Roberts Halls in order to tie in to utilities.  As part of the work the temporary egress stairwell from Roberts Hall will be reconfigured to maintain a pedestrian pathway along the Roberts Hall sidewalk down Hamerschlag Drive towards Scott Hall.  Access is being maintained as an emergency egress pathway and is not to be used for access to Roberts Hall.  Roberts Hall can be accessed from Hamerschlag Hall or from the lower Stairwell (by Scott Hall).  

The excavation work will also impact a door that exits Hamerschlag Hall.  This door will remain to exit the building and lead to a landing outside of the building.  In the event of an emergency and this door must be used please contact CMU Police (412-268-2323) once you have safely exited the building for a safe pathway away around the site work.   Signage will be posted at this location with additional instructions. The duration of this work is two months.
