SUBJECT: GATF and TCS Water Outage 10/17
The main water service valve for the GATF Building (4615 Forbes Ave) will be replaced on 10/17. This work is required as the valve can no longer be closed and requires replacement.
The GATF domestic water and fire line will be shut down at 10PM on 10/17 and is expected to be back online by 8AM on 10/18. Due to the water being out for both services, the GATF building will be closed for occupancy during these times.
The domestic water only for the TCS building will be impacted by this outage. The fire suppression line will remain in service.
The underground valve in the sidewalk along Forbes will be excavated during the daytime hours on 10/17 to prepare for the valve change. The sidewalk will be closed during this work as well. Sidewalk repairs will follow the days after the valve is replaced. There will also most likely be lane closure for this work that is near the curb at Forbes Avenue.
Please contact Ron Cunningham, FMS Principal Project Manager, at rcunningham@andrew.cmu.edu for any questions or concerns related to this work.
