SUBJECT: Posner Hall Reopening 1/17 – Request Assistance If Needed

Posner Hall is on track to reopen on Tuesday, January 17^th.  Spaces will not be 100% completed but will be usable by this date.  Thanks for your patience as we have worked diligently to restore all areas that were impacted over the winter break.  

 

As the affected spaces come back online for occupancy, it should be noted that long lead times for items such as carpeting, lighting fixtures and blinds will lengthen the time to completely restore an area.  These items will be thoroughly cleaned prior to occupancy and then re-assessed for replacement.  Baseboard trim is another example where due to long lead times, may be missing in some areas for a short duration of time while we work with suppliers.

 

The fire suppression system and domestic water system for Posner have been entirely repaired and both systems are back online and functioning properly.  We continue to work on repairs to the perimeter heating system within the building.   At this time, we have roughly two thirds of the system back online and functioning but continue to work on repairs on the west side of the facility, specifically on the 2^nd floor near the areas of 231, 232, 234 and offices 236 through 252.  

 

As staff return on Tuesday, January 17th

Due to the amount of furniture that was moved out of the way for repairs, we are certain that staff may request assistance in resetting furniture as they return to the office.  To provide assistance, we will have crews inside Posner on standby to assist with immediate furniture moving and cleaning requests on Tuesday, January 17th.  These requests can be called into our FMCS Service Response Center at 412.268.2910 and be immediately dispatched to a team member of this dedicated crew.
