SUBJECT: Campus Tree Removal/Replacement 1/8
Today, Monday January 8, a maple and crabapple tree at Morewood Gardens will be removed due to deteriorating health and severe decay. Additionally, a silver maple and catalpa tree at Roselawn Terrace will be removed, also due to deteriorating health and severe decay. These trees currently pose a risk to our campus community. Replacement trees, above and beyond the 4 trees removed, will be planted in both areas as soon as weather permits.
CMU works to keep our landscape thriving and safe. CMU is designated as a Tree Campus Higher Education school by the Arbor Day Foundation, recertified annually since 2014. Oversight on tree maintenance, inspections, and overall health is an integral part of this program's success.
