FROM: Service Response Center
SUBJECT: Baker Hall Frew Street Entrance Closure 7/8 – 8/5
The south entrance into Baker Hall along Frew St will be closed, as well as the exterior drive adjacent to this entrance, beginning on 7/8 through 8/5 for required underground water line work to re-establish the water connection that broke in March.
This work will require interior concrete floor removal and hand excavation directly inside the entrance, which will also require closure of the adjacent 1st floor men's restroom. Please utilize the men's restroom either at Porter 1st floor or Baker A level and 2nd floor.
A construction partition will be installed between the work area and Baker corridor to minimize dust migration and isolate the work areas. Exterior fencing will also block pedestrian access into the drive along Frew St to this side entrance door.
Crews will be working very early mornings to limit high noise-related work during the initial concrete demolition. There may be some noise related to the hand excavation during the day as work progresses.
Please review the maps below of the closures and work areas.
For any concerns regarding this work, please contact Ron Cunningham, FMCS Principal Project Manager, rcunning@andrew.cmu.edu or 412.508.9575.
