SUBJECT: Energy Reduction Events 7/1, 7/2, 7/3 (3pm-6pm)

An emergency alert and mandatory curtailment notice has been issued for Wednesday July 1; Thursday July 2; and Friday July 3 due to the high heat index, high temperatures, and projected spike in the electrical grid demand.   As such, we will be conducting campus-wide energy reduction actions from 3pm – 6pm each day in an effort to reduce energy demand across the grid.

To do our part in reducing the load on the electrical grid, you can expect:

· Occupied offices, classrooms and other areas will be slightly warmer than usual from 3pm to 6pm

· Occupied housing buildings are exempt from these setbacks

· Unoccupied offices, classrooms and other areas will have lighting and HVAC turned off from 3pm to 6pm.

If there are any sensitive areas with high level functions occurring during this time, please contact fixit@andrew.cmu.edu so that we can ensure those spaces are not affected.  We will be referring to 25 live for scheduling.

Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
