SUBJECT: Doherty Hall Steam Shutdown – Morning of 1/12/17
A major valve broke today on the main steam line serving the east end of Doherty Hall. Given the short period of mild weather tomorrow and lower building occupancy because of winter break, FMS crews will be changing out this valve on Thursday, January 12th between 6:30 AM and Noon. Perimeter heat, preheat reheat systems for Chemical Engineering and Art spaces in this part of the building will be affected. FMS crews will be adjusting the operation of air handlers serving these areas to minimize the impact of this shutdown. Occupants can expect somewhat colder temperatures than normal as well as variations in temperature from room to room.
We apologize for the inconvenience and short notice. If you have any questions, please contact the Service Response Center at 8-2910 or fixit@andrew.cmu.edu
