UPDATE – Domestic water has been restored to all the buildings affected.

UPDATE:  Here are two updates on the planned PWSA Water Service Shutdown.  First is a significant improvement in the expected duration.  PWSA has reduced the shutdown from 24 hours to 12 hours.  Normal service will now be restored to all affected buildings on Monday morning instead of Monday evening.  Second, there will be no road closures.  PWSA will restrict inbound driving lanes of Forbes Ave (just east of Morewood) starting at noon for additional excavation and overnight work.  See picture below.  There will be police officers scheduled for the duration of the work to direct traffic.

UPDATE:  PWSA has informed us that there will be no road closures on Forbes Ave for the repairs from Sunday(7/22) to Monday(7/23) but there will be lane restrictions.  When we know more finalized details from PWSA, we will send another update.

PWSA will be working on the water lines on Forbes Avenue starting at 7:00PM on Sunday, 7/22, until 7:00PM on Monday, 7/23.  During this work, the Tepper Quad, Alumni House, Bramer House and all the residence Halls along Morewood Avenue will be without water service.  Plans are being made to accommodate students during this outage. 

We’ve requested PWSA to provide us with road closures and parking restrictions that will occur during this shutdown.  That information will be sent out on Wednesday, 7/18.

SUBJECT: PWSA Water Service Shutdown and Road Closures Starting 6/1                            

Forbes Avenue, between Morewood and Beeler will be closed to all vehicles other than PAT Busses and emergency vehicles starting on Friday, 6/1, at 7:00PM until 11:59PM on Sunday night.  All buildings along Morewood Ave will not have water starting around 9:00PM on Friday, 6/1, until Saturday, 6/2 at 11PM.
