UPDATE: Chilled water shutdown rescheduled for Monday, November 4
During the testing phase on Wednesday 10/30 there were a couple of valves that did not work properly. In order to perform the work that was scheduled for Thursday 10/31 these valves need replaced. The work described below for 10/31 and the valve replacement will take place on Monday November 4th.
With the valves being replaced the A-Level of Warner Hall and the interior offices spaces on the other floors will not have chilled water available during the shutdown. The work will take place between 6:00 am and noon; due to the cooler weather on Monday additional outside air will be utilized to make up for the loss of chilled water during the shutdown.

SUBJECT: Cyert Hall Chilled Water System Testing 10/30 + 10/31
On Wednesday, October 30, Cyert Hall chilled water system will be isolated from the main campus chilled water loop. No other buildings will be effected by these tests.
Wednesday 10/30 – The Cyert roof top chiller will be turned on and tested. For the test the campus chiller water supply will be shut off from approximately 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. During this period the roof top chiller will be the supplying the chilled water to Cyert. The building air handlers will be changed to bring in additional outside air to assist in cooling. The chilled water will be shut off to the comfort cooling HVAC units as needed to keep the Cyert Data Centers running at the desired temperatures.
Thursday 10/31 – Providing the testing goes as expected the roof top chiller will again supply the cooling for Cyert. The chilled water will be turned off to the building at around 6:00 am so that new valves can be installed. Once the new valves are installed and insulated the campus chilled water supply will be turned back on. The work is schedule to be finished by 3:00 pm.
