FROM:  Service Response Center

DATE:  June 26, 2019

SUBJECT:  Potential Power Shutdown 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Saturday August 10, 2019

An electric shutdown is being planned for the following buildings between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM this Saturday morning from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM for the following buildings

·         College of Fine Arts

·         Hall of the Arts (GSIA)

·         Housing along Margaret Morrison Street

·         Hunt Library

·         Margaret Morrison Carnegie Hall

·         Posner Center

·         Skibo Gym

The purpose of this shutdown is to realign electrical power circuits to these buildings prior to the start of classes.  This will minimize disruptions caused by Posner Hall and Hall of the Arts construction during the Fall semester.  If we can perform this work now, we can eliminate the need to have at least three power shutdowns to buildings other than Posner Hall, Hall of the Arts and Posner Center between September and December.

We have attempted to reach out to personnel in all the affected buildings by phone and so far everyone we have been able to reach are fine with this timeframe.   However, we have not been able to reach everyone.  Please contact Marty Altschul (ma3q@andrew.cmu.edu, 8-2529 (office), (412) 527-5686 (cell)) with feedback as to whether this shutdown would work for you.
