The CMU-Alert webpage on coronavirus and health includes recommendations on social distancing strategies as we work together to protect our entire community. Social distancing is an evidence-based public health practice to mitigate the spread of viruses.
The webpage includes helpful information and proactive strategies including these recommended actions by Facility Coordinators before Wednesday, March 18th, in their department controlled spaces:
· Reduce/rearrange the number of seats in meeting spaces to allow for six feet of distance between people
· Identify a space to temporarily hold the relocated furniture
· Secure doors to meeting spaces or create other methods to control how spaces are used
· Post notices of occupancy limits in meeting spaces based on six feet of distance. See attached poster template
· Post notices in open and public spaces to discourage congregation. See attached poster template
Please contact FMS for assistance with moving furniture or adjusting access control schedules. We are here to help you take actions that will mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
Additional recommendations on CMU-Alert webpage include:
· Discourage group meetings for the time being and encourage finding creative ways of connecting with others in small groups and online
· Food needs to be individually wrapped and should not be openly shared (for example Pizza or dips)
· Please keep your areas clean and free of clutter to enable more effective cleaning
