SUBJECT: Warner Hall Power “Blip” During Circuit Breaker Test on 4/7

On Tuesday, 4/7, starting at 8:00AM, FMCS will be testing a newly replaced electrical circuit breaker in Warner Hall. This breaker is a part of the building transfer switch which transfers power from the normal utility source to the emergency generator when normal power is lost. We are going to simulate a loss of normal power to be sure that the breaker is calibrated properly and that it does not trip under a true loss of normal power.

During this test, the occupants of Warner Hall will experience a brief "blip" in the power. You may see lights blink and may need to restart your computer. This "blip" will happen again after the 30 minute test is completed and all is returned to normal.

For questions or concerns regarding this power “blip”, please contact the Zone Supervisor, Bob Giffen, at rgiffen@andrew.cmu.edu or 412-418-1529.
