SUBJECT: Duquesne Light Power Issue
Main campus buildings may have experienced a momentary voltage drop due to a Duquesne Light power issue that affected the high voltage distribution to the Oakland area. FMS crews are checking systems in buildings.
The power issue occurred at approximately 11:30am yesterday. Issues with Duquesne Light power supply can cause breakers to trip, momentary voltage sags, phase imbalances or power spikes that may impact sensitive electrical components. Anything powered down for the winter break would not be affected. We recommended departments remotely review their equipment and confirm that any operating systems are still on-line and normal.
FMS staff are available for on-campus support to visually verify anything that can’t be reviewed remotely. Please contact our Service Response Center at 412.268.2910 for assistance.
