FINAL UPDATE – Main Campus substation was returned to normal configuration at 6:00 AM this morning with no interruption to service. 

 

Please be advised that future building load transfers will still be necessary over the next few weeks as part of the repairs of the electrical damage that occurred on 11/15/13.

SUBJECT:  Major Electric and Chilled Water Failure on Main Campus

At 1:15 AM today Electric Power was lost to the following buildings:  Hamerschlag Hall, Newell Simon Hall,  Smith Hall, Doherty Hall, Gates-Hillman Center,  Hamburg Hall,  Roberts Hall, Scaife Hall and the FMS Building.  As a result of this power loss, all Chilled Water to ALL main campus buildings was also lost.  FMS crews and Duquesne Light are currently working to restore power to the extent possible and then restore chilled water.
