SUBJECT: 30 Campus and Housing Buildings Power Shutdown Date Phase Two Step 2B Repair

Due to the damage to high voltage circuits by the construction incident on 11/15/13, transfer of power to back-up cables is needed to make repairs.

30 main campus and housing buildings will have a power interruption for approximately 15 minutes during an 8 hour period.

Buildings involved are University Center, Resnik Dormitory, West Wing Dormitory, East Campus Garage, Boss Hall, McGill Hall, Scobell Hall, Welch Hall, Henderson Hall, Hamerschlag House, Margaret Morrison Apartments, Margaret Morrison storefronts, Donner Hall, Skibo Gym, Margaret Morrison Carnegie Hall, Posner Center, Posner Hall, GSIA, Hunt Library, CFA, Baker Hall, Porter Hall, Warner Hall, Cyert Hall, Wean Hall, Purnell Center, Doherty Hall, Gates Hillman Center, Hamerschlag Hall, Scaife Hall and Roberts Hall.

Facilities Management Services would like to plan this power interruption of 15 minutes/ building to replace the damaged cables on the WEH3-19 during spring break from Tuesday,  March 11 through March 13.  We are asking for the department facility coordinator of the departments in each building involved to respond if spring break is not good.   We will then work with that group to select a second time period.  Please respond by e-mail including the buildings of your concern to Kyle Tomer kt2n@andrew.cmu.edu and Steve Guenther sgue@andrew.cmu.edu  by February 26.  After the 26th a schedule of which building, date and time will be distributed.

If you have any questions please call Kyle Tomer 8-6332 or Steve Guenther 8-4948.
