SUBJECT: Streetscape Improvement Project 5/18 – 8/11

As a part of the Forbes Beeler Apartments project and ongoing efforts to improve Forbes Ave, a project will start this week to improve streetscape and pedestrian safety/experience between Beeler and Devon streets. The project scope includes replacing and widening sidewalks, replacing streetlights, adding stormwater management components (rain gardens, drainage), replacing/adding street trees, and adding planters.

The sidewalk will be closed on the south side of the Forbes along the East Campus Garage between 5/18 and 8/11. The sidewalk on the north (along Forbes Beeler Apartments) will be open before the closure on the south for pedestrian use.  Signage indicating the sidewalk closure will be located at the intersections of Morewood/Forbes and Beeler/Forbes. There should be no interruptions to the bike lane or traffic lanes during this work. The buses will remain stopping at the east entrance of the East Campus Garage. Please see the attached traffic/signage plan for reference.

Please reach out to Asli S Darga, CDFD Project Manager, at 412-268-5890 for any questions or concerns related to this work.
