SUBJECT: Loss of Duquesne Light Riazzi-Forward Circuit affecting Mellon Institute

At approximately 6:00 PM this evening power was lost on the Duquesne Light Riazzi-Forward feeder, one of the two circuits serving Mellon Institute.  Switchgear in Mellon Institute operated properly and power was restored to the affected building circuits in a few seconds.  No other buildings are known to be affected by this outage.

FMS personnel have responded to make sure all building systems are restored.  However, it would be wise for occupants to check that lab and computer equipment also restarted when the brief outage ended.

Duquesne Light has not provided an estimate when power will be restored to Riazzi-Forward.  When that occurs, Duquesne Light and FMS will restore dual service without any interruption to building systems.
