SUBJECT: Mellon Institute Emergency Circuits Power Outage

At approximately 10:00 AM today the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) controlling power to all emergency and normal/emergency circuits at Mellon Institute tripped causing all of these circuits to lose power.  This resulted in a number of critical infrastructure systems to go down including networking, laboratory hood systems, HVAC to critical areas,   the central chilled water system, building automation systems and others. 

FMS personnel reset the ATS at approximately 10:48 AM.  Most systems were restarted but some systems remain off.  FMS personnel continue to work on restoring these remaining systems.  For further information, please contact Martin Altschul at 412-527-5686 or ma3q@andrerw.cmu.edu.
