SUBJECT: Potential Electrical Voltage Irregularities, August 15

We received a notification from Duquesne Light Company that the electrical transmission grid will be conducting a 30-minute test on Thursday, August 15, as part of ongoing efforts to prepare for future increased demand for electricity. From 2 PM to 2:30 PM on August 15, voltage will be reduced to test system strain on power generation and transmission lines. Duquesne Light Company advised that large commercial customers like CMU may notice this voltage reduction and equipment sensitive to voltage irregularities should be prepared and monitored.  Duquesne Light is reviewing its relevant procedures to minimize impacts on customers.
