SUBJECT:         Data Outage 10/9/14  6:00 AM to 6:05 AM

                        Limited Electric Outage 10/9/14  6:00 AM to 8:00 AM

CDFD contractors and FMS personnel will need to interrupt power to a transformer on the 7th floor of Mellon Institute on Thursday, October 9th between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM.  This transformer serves normal/emergency circuits on the upper floors of Mellon Institute.  One of the affected circuits serves the main data closet for Mellon Institute.  Temporary service will be run to this data closet so that the data outage will last no more than 5 minutes starting at approximately 6:00 AM.  In addition to Mellon Institute, this data closet provides networking service to the SEI campus wireless system and all data circuits in Shirley Apartments.

This work is needed to relocate the transformer as part of a main utility shaft restoration project.

A second interruption to these same circuits will occur on Thursday,  October 23rd at a time to be determined.  At that time contract personnel will reconnect these loads to normal/emergency service.  In the interim, these circuits will not have emergency power available.
