UPDATE:

Wean Hall exterior concrete repair work is continuing on the south elevation of the building. Next week the work will be advancing to the eastern half of Wean Hall outside the offices along corridors 6400, 7400 and 8400.

The work involves cutting out bad areas of concrete, forming and patching, power washing and finally coating. This causes noise and dust. Although the noisiest work of cutting out the bad concrete will be done early in the morning before 8:30 pm, other steps of the repair process will also cause intermittent noise throughout day. This work will be ongoing as weather permits through the end of the year.

SUBJECT: Masonry Repairs Wean Hall Starts 7/15/2013 – 11/2013

Turner Construction and Mariani & Richards have begun making concrete repairs to the exterior walls of Wean Hall. The work includes cutting out areas where the concrete is spalling. There will be noise from the concrete saw and chipping in preparation to the patching.

Work is starting at the west end of the south elevation and the west elevation in coordination with the construction of the new Scott Hall building. It is intended to then continue this repair work along the south elevation as weather permits and anticipated to be completed by November, 2013.

Updates will be issued monthly as work progresses.
