SUBJECT: Wean Hall – 5th Floor Restroom Renovation Project
The Wean Hall 5th Floor Restroom Renovation project is beginning site mobilization and demolition this week. Both the female and male restrooms nearest La Prima, behind the elevators on the 5th floor, are being fully renovated.
Adjacent spaces, such as the surrounding corridor areas, will also be affected. Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and architectural scopes are involved throughout. A new printing station and refreshed corridor design will be brought to the surrounding corridors, improving the overall function of this highly trafficked area.
This project is a product of initiatives by the All-Gender Restroom Access Committee to test a new multi-user restroom design. This facility will open as an all-female facility in the Fall of 2022. This is Phase 1 of a 2 Phase Project. Following this phase, the corner restrooms on the 5th floor of Wean will be fully renovated over winter break 2022 in a similar fashion.
Access to and from the main stair core and elevators will be maintained, per code, and any brief obstructions to this access will be communicated in advance.
