UPDATE –  The 24-hour power outage required to connect Scaife Hall to the campus high voltage electrical system has been postponed two weeks from September 17-18 to October 1-2 due to a delay on critical equipment delivery.  As a reminder, the four affected buildings are Ansys Hall, Hamerschlag Hall, Roberts Hall, and Scott Hall and these buildings will be without normal power and closed for a 24 hour period from 6AM Saturday, 10/1, to 6AM Sunday, 10/2.  FMCS staff can help departments understand available emergency power and options for temporary power during the 24-hour power outage.  We know that power outages are disruptive and appreciate your assistance in coordinating the work.  Point of contacts for questions or advanced preparation:

·       General questions about the planned power outage – Jamison Fielding, CDFD Project Manager
·       Advance preparation to understand impacts on building equipment – Thom Thornton, Zone Manager
·       Advance preparation for temporary power to critical equipment – Thom Thornton, Zone Manager

NEW PROPOSED DATES – The Scaife project is tracking production and delivery of critical equipment for the planned power shutdown on 9/17 – 9/18.  Given the challenges with the global supply chain, the project would like to solicit feedback from affected departments on a back-up date of 10/1 – 10/2.  The project is hopeful that the equipment will arrive on schedule, but would like to confirm an alternate date for the power outage.  Any departments with concerns about the 10/1 – 10/2 back-up date should provide feedback to Jamison Fielding, CDFD Project Manager, at jfieldin@andrew.cmu.edu by Friday, 8/26.
