UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the closure of Hamerschlag Drive has been extended until 2PM today.
We will provide additional updates if there are any changes. Our goal is to reopen the roadway as soon as work is completed, and a notification will be sent once the project is finished.
In the meantime, please continue to use the entrance on Frew Street beneath Scaife Hall.

UPDATE – Please be advised of updated route details and temporary service changes regarding tomorrow morning’s Hamerschlag Drive closure.When entering the alternate detour path leading toward Gates Garage, drivers must pass directly underneath Scaife Hall. The detour route map has been updated to highlight the adjusted path in red along Hamerschlag Drive.Hamerschlag Drive is narrow and will require managing two-way traffic. FMS staff will be stationed on-site to assist with navigation and direct vehicles along the narrow segments of the road.To limit the size of vehicles on the detour path, all garbage and waste collection in these areas has been placed on hold and will resume the following day.Please contact Chris Ervin, FMS West Zone Supervisor, at cerv@andrew.cmu.edu or 412-719-4330 for any questions or concerns.

While CIC Garage access remains unaffected, vehicles heading to the Gates Garage, Scott Hall loading dock, Wean loading docks, or upper Newell Simon Hall must detour via Frew Street. Please refer to the attached map for the highlighted alternate route.
