UPDATE – Thank you to everyone who attended today's meeting regarding the upcoming annual campus steam shutdown. Your participation and feedback are greatly appreciated.

As discussed, the annual maintenance outage will require a 72-hour shutdown of the main campus steam system, beginning at 6AM on Tuesday, July 28 and ending at 6AM on Friday, July 31. This schedule is consistent with previous years and is necessary to complete required system maintenance.

The presentation slides from today's meeting are attached for your reference.

Key reminders from today's discussion:

  • Buildings connected to the main campus steam system will be affected by the outage. Buildings within the designated shutdown area will not have steam service during this period.
  • Air conditioning service will remain available in all buildings.
  • Domestic hot water will remain available in the CUC, Highmark, and Tepper buildings.

If you have concerns, operational impacts, or special requirements related to the shutdown, please send your feedback to Shannon Wetzel at swetzel@andrew.cmu.edu by Wednesday, July 15, so we can review and address issues prior to the outage.
